The other day I was speaking to an accountant that I met at a conference a few years ago and he asked me what I had been working on of late. I replied that I have been doing a lot of work in developing a product package to assist accountants to advise their clients on Crowd Sourced Funding Equity Raising.
He said “I do not know much about Crowd Sourced Funding Equity Raising do you think it would be of benefit for my firm to get involved?”
I said “Yes” because I think Crowd Sourced Funding Equity Raising is the largest and most beneficial change that has been made to financing arrangements for small and medium sized businesses in Australia in the last 35 years and already $26.6M has been raised by 30 companies.
I also believe that Crowd Sourced Funding Equity Raising offers a tremendous opportunity for accounting/advisory firms to become a key advisor in this brand new business advisory service that is now available in Australia.
I said to him – “I think it’s a win/win/win situation”.
A win for your accountancy/advisory firm because you will be supplying a range of services that are creating new income streams for your firm and your client will be happy that his/her trusted advisor is able to assist him/her on their company’s capital raising journey.
A win for your client because they will be able to access a new financing source for their business without having to go and join another accounting firm or professional advisor.
A win for your accounting team because they will be able to undertake a range of interesting and challenging work that will assist your accounting/advisory firm in attracting and retaining staff.
You will also have the opportunity to grow with your clients because most of the businesses that aspire to raise capital as a Crowd Sourced Funding Equity Raising Company will currently be a client of a small to medium-sized accounting firm based anywhere in Australia.
These clients are going to need assistance in documenting their current position and articulating their vision for the future if they are going to be able to develop a Crowd Sourced Funding Offer Document that is acceptable to an Intermediary who has been appointed by ASIC.
ESS BIZTOOLS has developed a full product package which guides you through the entire process. This package even includes marketing material so that you can proactively promote your firm’s services to your clients and prospects.
Recent surveys undertaken by the Financial Review and Commonwealth Bank have indicated that many accountants wish to develop a new range of diversified services – in my opinion, Crowd Sourced Funding Equity Raising is the number one pick!
