You May Notice Something a Little Different
After three and a bit years we decided that BoxFreeIT needed a facelift. There’s a new logo and colour scheme but the biggest change is that you can finally read BoxFreeIT on your phone or tablet without having to resize the screen. Yes – there’s finally a dedicated mobile site.
It’s been a long time coming…
This is the first in a series of changes to BoxFreeIT as we expand the coverage of cloud software and services for accounting firms and SMEs in Australia and New Zealand.
Cloud computing has established itself as the primary mode of consuming technology with every software company in the world, from Microsoft down, moving from desktop and server software to cloud software.
The ability to use any program with just an internet connection and a credit card has opened up enterprise technology to the small business user for the first time. This in turn has spurred a rush of productivity and efficiency improvements among SMEs. BoxFreeIT intends to be the first place you turn to learn about how to supercharge your business with the cloud and other digital technologies.
You will see a couple of new faces on BoxFreeIT in the opinions section who will be sharing their observations on the digital revolution and how it applies to their businesses. The latest is Alexey Mitko of Interactive Accounting, who brings sharp analytical skills and a passion for system design to BoxFreeIT’s growing stable of contributors.
(If you’re an accountant who wants to share your experience in using technology in your practice and loves to write, please drop me a line at [email protected].)
Keep an eye out for new features and services on BoxFreeIT over the next couple of months. We will be running a couple of experiments aimed at finding new ways to talk about cloud technology, including more events and videos.
For those of you who took part in the Future of Accounting Forum in April, I’m very pleased to announce the second Forum will take place in late July. More details to come.
Thank you for being a regular reader of BoxFreeIT. As always, please email me any improvements, criticism or compliments – we’re happy to hear them all.
Here’s to finding better ways to do business.
Regards,
Sholto Macpherson
